Feb. 12th, 2005 02:04 pmWhere the hell does someone get off firing someone else for bitching about their job in a blog? Managers and owners are *way* too full of themselves. I wish I still worked for the University of California, just so I could bitch about them in their role as a state agent and then sue them for violating my First Amendment rights when they fired me.
If someone thinks their job is shitty, and says so, the solution is obviously not to make the job less shitty. Just fire them. Jesus.
I've been thinking of taking down my journal for a while now. (I'm not really sure why. I love my flist and would miss hearing from you all, so withdrawing from LJ seems hypocritical. I'm torn by contradictory impulses to bare my soul and hide from all human contact, and destroying this thing is a way to hide.) But now I won't be able to give up my journal for a while, just because I only now found out that people have been fired for statements they made in these things. Someday I'll grow up.
This thing has my real name on it. I am not hiding behind any kind of anonymity. If someone has a problem with anything I've ever said here, they know where they can find me. I've always taken pride in that.
