ILLYRIA: My face is not my face, I don't know what, what it will say...
-- Underneath (Season 5, Episode 17)

I forgot about that one.

CONNOR: That guy made me really cranky.
-- Origin (Season 5, Episode 18)

Unfortunately, I forgot about that one too. Although I still believe Fred would say that under the appropriate circumstances.

I watched this for (I'm pretty sure) the first time since it originally aired.

Oh my God, y'all, it is so much less annoying now. For one thing, when you aren't taking it personally, it's just a stupid episode that spends the entire A-plot making its leads look really stupid. If you know that the entire point of the episode is to make the main characters look like idiot assholes- if you're in on the joke- then it just becomes tedious instead of painful.

The Fred scenes, which are why I watched it, were awesome. I had this idea at the time (and have since, ewww, written fic)- but Illyria is so Fred. Even when she's talking in that level, vaguely threatening tone of voice, and using the faux-important big words, and being blue- Fred, Fred, Fred. And no matter how much Wesley whines about it? Still Fred.

In conclusion, Mutant Enemy is a land of contrasts. Thank you.
